Other than that, you’re free to use whatever tools you’d like!

Though almost all of our lessons are recorded in Adobe Photoshop, the vast majority of what we teach is app-independent. We focus on teaching the really important stuff – the fundamental skills of digital painting like measurement, lighting, values and form, coloring, etc – rather than specific apps or tools.

Your software interface may look a little different to Adobe Photoshop, but the basic concepts will all be the same!

Yes, and in fact we many students happily following along in just about any software you can name!

The lessons in the Digital Painting Academy will be most useful for beginner and intermediate artists.

That being said, we also have a number of advanced artists who stay in the Academy just for the sense of community and monthly feedback on their work!
