What is the difference between the "IFI" program and the "DPA"?
Both programs teach digital painting, but they were built for different goals.
The Digital Painting Academy (DPA) helps you build individual art skills at your own pace through a growing library of lessons, workshops, and monthly challenges.
Illustration From Imagination (IFI) is different.
Over 8 weeks, you'll create one complete illustration while learning a repeatable workflow you can use every time you start a new piece. You'll move through the program alongside a cohort of artists, receive feedback throughout the process, and learn how professional illustrators make the right decisions from the first sketch to the final polish.
Many students continue into the DPA afterward to keep practicing and building on the workflow they learned inside IFI.
When will the program start?
Illustration From Imagination will officially start March 31st. You’ll find the exact dates for each new module release inside your student handbook!
Remember that you will get lifetime access to all material in the program, so even if you can’t make all 8 weeks, you can catch up later in your own time! 🙂
Do I need specific tablets or software to go through this course?
The only thing you definitely need is a tablet of some sort- whether that’s a graphic tablet like a Wacom or Bamboo, or a display tablet like an iPad Pro or Cintiq. You won’t be able to follow along with a mouse (and if you could I'd be REALLY impressed)!
I’ll be teaching in Adobe Photoshop – and while I highly recommend it, you’ll be able to follow along in any software of your choice, whether that’s Krita, Procreate, Clip Studio, Corel Painter, or others.
